HELP ME :P

Hey guys, I would like to make a map but I was wondering if anyone had some ideas to put in, also does anyone have good binds for mapping that don't include F1,F2,F3,F4,F5,F6,F7,F8,F9,F10,F11,F12.

There are some strictly menus that can help, I'm not sure about binds and such
Not sure if you know this or not, but the editing binds are different than the in-game binds.

I'm not an editor, so don't ask me much more beyond that.

For editing, I'm not sure how much you know..

g+scroll to change gridsize selection
hold left mouse + move to select area
left mouse, then right mouse on a seperate location to select the square of those two
r+scroll to rotate (hint - right click the side of the selection you want to rotate)
x to flip (same instructions as r+scroll)
y+scroll to change textures, or F2 is a bit faster
h to enter/exit heightmap mode.. But heightmap sucks so avoid it at all costs - I always accidentally hit it and it ruins sections of the map.

L to toggle fullbright/lightmap
7 to toggle outline (useful to figure out how big the triangles in the selection are.. ideally, larger is better)
m to toggle materials (difficult to edit within clip or water, for example)
c to copy selection
v to paste

right click and move mouse to move selection (these mouse commands get really fluid in time)

Thanks Kretren I knew some of the basic stuff but I didn't know all of that, thanks. Just a quick question, how do you make flat surfaces like a ramp or something.

f+scroll while the mouse is over a corner to 'push' the corner down. q+scroll pushes the whole face down. Can't believe I forgot those commands :S

To install it, you put it into your autoexec.cfg file (See: my thread)
The Readme in the zipped file tells you where to look, and provides a file to extract.

you need this line in the autoexec.cfg:
exec <file name>

the file you downloaded also has to be in the same folder as the autoexec.cfg and config.cfg

im going really well with this map. in a few days though i might need kretren to do the lighting if thats ok ?
